with Cabrini Green Legal Aid/Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers (CLAIM)
Just recently, PBN attorneys ensured a baby was in safer care with his grandmother rather than an abusive father. This is the work our attorneys do in jail clinic with CGLA/CLAIM.
A vast majority of the women in the Cook County jail are both mothers and nonviolent. PBN represents these women in matters relating to their families: do their kids have appropriate guardianship? do they understand what they need to do to parent again? how do they register to be found by their now-adopted child? These are just some of the matters our attorneys address.
PBN has assisted well over 200 children over the course of our work on this project. The combination of being an experienced attorney and a parent is particularly helpful.
