Domestic Violence Representation
with LAF Chicago & Sarah's Inn.
Getting an Order of Protection against an abusive husband or boyfriend is a scary and legally cumbersome thing to do, but is often crucial for a woman's safety.
Working with LAF Chicago and Sarah's Inn, we are providing legal representation to survivors of domestic violence as they navigate this process. Once a woman has received an Emergency Order of Protection at the Maywood courthouse, a pair of our attorneys meets with the client, obtains all necessary evidence and paperwork, and then represents the client during the hearing to help her receive a permanent order of protection against her abuser. Ultimately, we hope to duplicate this project to other underserved courthouses.
